Registering to bid is simple and easy. We only require valid identification and $200.00 cash for the deposit. The deposit must be in cash, we do not take credit cards or checks for the deposit. The deposit is refundable at any time and there is no obligation to buy a vehicle.
All vehicles must be paid for and moved off our lot according to the following schedule:
Manassas auctions – the following Wednesday
There will be no exceptions to this rule. If you have already paid for a vehicle and do not remove it, you will lose the vehicle and your money will not be refunded. If the vehicle is not paid for you will not be permitted to attend any future auctions.
We provide either a storage lien or regular title for each vehicle we sell, unless otherwise noted in the auction list. We provide this at no cost to the seller for each vehicle purchased for a minimum of $150.00. If the vehicle is purchased for less than $150.00, a title can be obtained by changing the purchase price to $150.00.
If a title is requested more than 7 days after the auction there is an additional $50.00 fee for titles.
For all vehicles paid for on auction day, storage lien titles (for Virginia residents only) will be available according to the following schedule:
Manassas auctions – the following Wednesday
If the vehicle purchased has an actual title or if you are a non-Virginia resident, the actual title make take from 7 to 14 days to receive those titles. This is due to the recent cutbacks mandated by the Governor of Virginia. We regret any inconvenience this may cause.
Most of the cars come from our storage lots that are located across northern Virginia. We are the largest towing company on the East Coast and maybe in the United States. They may be police impounds, private property impounds, accidents and we work with several donation companies to sell donated cars. We also have consignment vehicles for sale.
During the auction our staff will try to start each vehicle so you can hear it run and they will try to move it to see if the transmission is good. They are able to do this without keys. We do have the keys for a few vehicles. We provide those keys free of charge to the highest bidder if we have them. If we do not have a set of keys, we have a locksmith on auction day to provide the service of making keys for a reasonable fee.

If you have lost the title to your car, you will need to get a duplicate title.
It is important to apply for a lost title as soon as possible.
How does Henry’s determine the value of a car?
Henry’s Auto Auction policy is “You set the price”. However over 90%
percent of our customers sell their vehicle with no reserve price set.
We can use various pricing and valuation sources to determine fair market
value. These include Black Book, Blue Book, auction data and experience.
How much does Henry’s Auction charge for selling my car?
The seller's fee is $125.00. This amount will be deducted
from your settlement check. If the vehicle does not sell because the vehicle
was priced too high there will be minimum charge of $100.00.
If you do not wish to have the vehicle back, there will be no
charge to you the customer.
How long after the sale will I get paid for my vehicle?
Payment to the consignor will be in the form of a check and issued approximately
one week after the sale.
My car is financed. Is that a problem?
Yes, you would need to pay off the loan first. Then obtain the title.
My car is registered in another state
If your car is registered in another state, and you have clear title to the
vehicle, Henry’s can still consign your car.
What if my certificate of title says “Salvage” or TMU?
Henry’s will consign or sell a vehicle with a “salvage” or “lemon” title.
This is also known as a “branded title.” A title which has the letters “TMU”
(True Mileage Unknown) will have to be noted on our auction list.
What happens if my car does not sell at auction?
Henry’s will call you to let you know the car has not sold. In some cases
Henry’s will allow you to keep the car on our lot for free for an additional
two weeks if you agree to reduce the price. But it depends on the vehicle,
and the inventory. Henry’s will let you know.
